Testimonials

What Our Clients Say

“I feel that Nicola quickly understood the nature of what I was trying to say and was able to steer discussion in directions which were helpful to me. My engagement with MAC Counselling – and with Nicola in particular – was hugely positive for me. I feel that I have a stronger grasp of why I think and act as I do.”

Nicola helped me understand myself better, and (gently!) pushed me to question things I’d never thought about! Her support has been transformational for me, and without the work we’ve done together I think I’d be in a very different place now. I’m feeling so positive for the future now, and wouldn’t hesitate to use MAC Counselling again if I ever need that extra support.

When I first went to see Ros I was in a very scary place. I knew I needed help and I found it with Ros. She has supported me when I needed it most. I never thought just talking could release so much. Ros not only provided a safe place for me to talk, she gave me the tools I needed to help myself. Life is hard and I think everyone would benefit from counselling, to talk about things they can’t talk to friends or family, have someone listen and give support who will not judge or criticise you but help you. I didn’t realise how much counselling would help me. Thanks Ros.

  —  Individual Session
We attended Ros for many months following a traumatic period in our life. What followed was well structured and sensitive, and navigated us confidently through identified areas of difficulty in our relationship. There was never a time when we felt uncomfortable as a result of Ros’s involvement and each session was free from judgement. Ros’s insight demonstrated significant experience and we found her to be a positive aspect of our life during this time. We have since recommended her to another family, and would do so again.

  —  Couples Session
Ros's supervision has been invaluable to me over the past 2 years, especially during challenging times both personally and professionally. I always look forward to our sessions where I feel heard and supported with whatever I bring. Ros is a knowledgeable and compassionate practitioner who I find easy to connect to and this has helped us develop a strong partnership. I particularly appreciate the balance in our focus between development and personal growth.

Couples Therapy and why it helps

How can I help? When was the last time someone asked you this question? And when was the last time you asked someone this question? If I were to ask you this question in the context of a relationship: how can I help you in your relationship? I’m curious what your response would be. I may not know your response but what I do know is that it is a valid response and there is a place you can receive that help.

Open to possibility.....The power of coaching

This July I will be 57 years old, 57! No idea where the time has gone (..oh apart from a pretty full-on career in financial services, bringing up a family, all the usual helping out at clubs, helping my husband run his own business, various qualifications etc. etc.) By a somewhat happen chance my boss decided to give four of us in the opportunity to go on a coaching course. I causally said “why not?”, thinking it was a couple of days in a classroom with a bit of light essay writing. It turned out to be a fairly academic, self-led Level 7 Certificate for Senior Executive Coaching and Mentoring which took over a year to complete, including practical coaching hours. At the same time, I was taking part in quite a challenging senior development program as part of which I was provided with an executive coach.

Menopause

Why is it important for men to learn about the menopause?

Menopause is a natural process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years, typically occurring in her late 40s or early 50s. While menopause is often viewed as a women's issue, the impact of this significant life stage extends beyond the individual experiencing it. It is crucial for men to educate themselves about menopause and its effects, as this understanding can strengthen relationships, foster empathy, and promote overall well-being for both partners.
