Who am I?
I am often described as a bubbly and caring individual. I am very passionate about every individual being given a space to be seen and heard and have come from years of experience of advocating for those have experienced injustice or not given opportunities to be seen and heard. My background involves working in care and employability, with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, barriers and additional support needs.
My main approach is to create a space where you can come as you are. I’m not here to judge, I’m here to give you a safe space where you will be seen, heard, and empowered. I appreciate everyone’s journey to coming to counselling is different and my hope is that when you come into the room you feel accepted as you are.
I work with an integrative approach, which means I draw upon different types of therapies such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Person-Centred. It’s important to me that you that my approach is integrative so we find one together that works best for you so you can feel empowered, and the interventions and tools offered are ones that you feel able to try out and use if helpful.
I have a BA (Hons) in Theology and Religious Studies and from there obtained a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Diploma in Relational Counselling, specialising in Couples Therapy.
I am a Member of COSCA and BACP and I undertake regular supervision to maintain professional practice. I am also PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Registered with Disclosure Scotland.
