Her Approach

My main approach is to create a space where you can come as you are. I’m not here to judge, I’m here to give you a safe space where you will be seen, heard, and empowered. I appreciate everyone’s journey to coming to counselling is different and my hope is that when you come into the room you feel accepted as you are.

I work with an integrative approach, which means I draw upon different types of therapies such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Person-Centred. It’s important to me that you that my approach is integrative so we find one together that works best for you so you can feel empowered, and the interventions and tools offered are ones that you feel able to try out and use if helpful.

I am a Member of COSCA and BACP and I undertake regular supervision to maintain professional practice. I am also PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Registered with Disclosure Scotland.

I causally said “why not?”, thinking it was a couple of days in a classroom with a bit of light essay writing. It turned out to be a fairly academic, self-led Level 7 Certificate for Senior Executive Coaching and Mentoring which took over a year to complete, including practical coaching hours. At the same time, I was taking part in quite a challenging senior development program as part of which I was provided with an executive coach.

Menopause

Why is it important for men to learn about the menopause?

Menopause is a natural process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years, typically occurring in her late 40s or early 50s. While menopause is often viewed as a women's issue, the impact of this significant life stage extends beyond the individual experiencing it. It is crucial for men to educate themselves about menopause and its effects, as this understanding can strengthen relationships, foster empathy, and promote overall well-being for both partners.
