His Approach

My view is that counselling is a professional therapeutic relationship based on non-judgemental respect which offers empathy and understanding. Counselling can mean different things to different people, but in general, it’s a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth.

I have developed the skills necessary to support young children in their development and growth. Skills which are naturally transferable to Therapeutic work.

Experience and Training

I have a lot of life experience to draw on! I am currently completing my Diploma in Human Relations and Counselling with Robert Gordon University. having previously gained the H.D.S - Foundations of Human Relations and Counselling Certificate.

I am fully supported by the MAC team and regularly undertake supervision, which I have found to be invaluable during my work with my clients. I am also PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Registered with Disclosure Scotland and I am finalising registration with COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy Scotland).

I may not know your response but what I do know is that it is a valid response and there is a place you can receive that help.

No idea where the time has gone (..oh apart from a pretty full-on career in financial services, bringing up a family, all the usual helping out at clubs, helping my husband run his own business, various qualifications etc. etc.) By a somewhat happen chance my boss decided to give four of us in the opportunity to go on a coaching course. I causally said “why not?”, thinking it was a couple of days in a classroom with a bit of light essay writing. It turned out to be a fairly academic, self-led Level 7 Certificate for Senior Executive Coaching and Mentoring which took over a year to complete, including practical coaching hours. At the same time, I was taking part in quite a challenging senior development program as part of which I was provided with an executive coach.

Menopause

Why is it important for men to learn about the menopause?

Menopause is a natural process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years, typically occurring in her late 40s or early 50s. While menopause is often viewed as a women's issue, the impact of this significant life stage extends beyond the individual experiencing it. It is crucial for men to educate themselves about menopause and its effects, as this understanding can strengthen relationships, foster empathy, and promote overall well-being for both partners.
