Who am I?
As human beings, we are often both hurt and healed inrelationship and I believe counselling can offer a unique space to explore thatsafely, with someone whose priority is to be alongside you. A space where youdon’t have to worry about what to say or how your words might land.
I’m a counsellor who values connection at the heart of mywork. I aim to offer a calm, supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood and accepted as you are. I’m naturally compassionate and curious andI try to meet each person with warmth, openness and respect, allowing you tomove at your own pace.
People who know me would describe me as loyal and dependableand I hope that comes through in the way I work. I care about building atherapeutic relationship that feels genuine and steady, where you don’t have toface things on your own. Once that relationship is established there is spacefor challenge and a deep dive into whatever you may want or need to look at.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you canspeak freely about whatever is going on for you emotionally, relationally orpsychologically. My approach is integrative, which means I draw from differentways of understanding people and their experiences. This includesperson-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and existentialapproaches, as well as creative or practical tools when they feel helpful. Mywork is trauma-informed and guided by care, honesty and flexibility, shaping thework around you rather than expecting you to fit a certain model.
I see therapy as a shared process. Together, we can begin tomake sense of what you’re carrying, notice patterns that may be keeping youstuck and explore things that might feel difficult to face alone. From there,we can look for ways forward that feel meaningful and manageable, at a pacethat feels right for you.
Alongside my core training, I have completed furthertraining in trauma, grief and loss and the impact of sexual violence. I engagein regular supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure my workremains ethical, responsive and centred on each client.
I also have a strong understanding of neurodivergence, withparticular experience and training in ADHD, shaped by both professionallearning and practice.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent 12 years working ineducation. As a teacher, I worked closely with children and their families, building strong relationships to support each child’s development andwellbeing. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to the emotional experiencesbehind the learning, particularly supporting children and families through lossand change.
This led me to train as a counsellor and I hold a degree inEducation, a Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Diploma in IntegrativeCounselling.
I am a PVG holder and a Registered Practitioner Member ofBACP and COSCA.
