Associate Counsellor

Who am I?
My friends often describe me as warm, kind, and someone who truly listens. I have a deep curiosity about people — what shapes them, what gives them hope, and what helps them move forward when life feels hard. As a counsellor, my priority is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood. My role is to walk alongside them, offering encouragement as they explore challenges and discover new possibilities for themselves.

My Approach

I am especially passionate about supporting young people and adults through times of transition, whether that’s navigating the journey into adulthood, adjusting to change, or working through personal struggles. My own experiences have shown me how important it is to have someone who can listen and hold space without judgment.

While my creative background helps me to think flexibly and approach challenges from different angles, what drives me most in my counselling practice is compassion and connection. Every person’s story is unique, and I aim to meet clients exactly where they are, tailoring my approach to their individual needs.

My experience includes working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those with specific learning needs and neurodiverse identities. This has strengthened my ability to adapt, respond sensitively, and create a counselling relationship that is inclusive and empowering.

Experience and Training

I hold a BA (Hons) degree from the Glasgow School of Art and a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate in Further Education. I spent over twenty years in education, where I increasingly focused on the pastoral side of my work — supporting students not only in their studies but in their wider lives. This naturally led me into counselling.

I am a member of COSCA and hold a Certificate in Counselling Skills. I am currently completing my Diploma in Integrative Relational Counselling, training that deepens my ability to combine professional skills with warmth, creativity, and compassion to support people in meaningful ways.

Alongside counselling, I have founded and led mentoring programmes for young graduates, and I remain actively involved in supporting people at different life stages.
