Who am I?
Those close to me would describe me as someone who values kindness, honesty, and curiosity. I have a passion for understanding people and supporting them through life’s challenges which inspired me to train as a counsellor. I believe counselling offers something truly transformative—a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes.
Grant is in the final stages of completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Relational Counselling. His training is integrative, meaning he draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). This flexibility allows him to tailor sessions to each client’s unique needs, whether that involves exploring past experiences, understanding patterns in relationships, or developing practical strategies for change.
Grant sees counselling as a collaborative process. His aim is to create a space that belongs entirely to the client—a place to explore thoughts and feelings, gain clarity, and discover new ways forward. He works with empathy and professionalism to ensure clients feel accepted and supported throughout their journey.
Grant is completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Relational Counselling with The Spark and holds a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills from the University of Edinburgh. He is a registered member of COSCA, undergoes regular clinical supervision, and holds PVG clearance through Disclosure Scotland.
Before training as a counsellor, Grant built a career in roles that centred on business finance, communication and connection with people, both in the UK and internationally. These experiences reinforced his belief in the power of listening and understanding—values that underpin his counselling practice today.
