Who am I?
The best word to describe me is 'curious' as I have a thirst for learning new things. This trait has taken me on a career journey where I have studied Interior Design, worked in the corporate world of business, as a Director in Building Consultancy to finally finding my calling which lies in Psychotherapy. Entering a therapeutic relationship with a client is where I feel I am my true authentic self. Over the years, people have described me as a good listener, who encourages people to acknowledge their strengths and positive traits. When counselling, I offer a safe and confidential space to allow clients to share their issues and increase their self-awareness.
My approach to counselling is to ensure clients feel relaxed and comfortable in their first session to allow trust in the therapeutic relationship to build. My counselling sessions are client led, with a person-centred approach at its foundation. Through exploration, my aim is to actively listen to my clients by showing empathy and congruence which can allow them to increase their self-awareness to face life challenges and build strength and resilience.
