Who am I?
People who know me often describe me as calm, level headed, and well-grounded, with a steady approach to life’s challenges. I feel strongly about injustice , and believe this is what fuels my drive and empathy in my counselling work. I truly believe in every person’s potential to grow, discover their strengths, and recognise their own worth, and feel privileged whenever someone allows me to be part of their journey.

Who am I? (Continued)

My life experience, combined with my counselling qualifications, equips me to take on a meaningful and effective role in this field.

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially with our dogs, who always seem to be up to something exciting. I also have a keen interest in the welfare of primates and have sponsored a chimpanzee and an orangutang named Trudy and Amy for several years now, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet them and learn more about their story.

I believe that every life experience offers an opportunity to learn and grow, and I find great fulfilment in helping others discover and embrace their own journey of growth.

How I work

I am trained in Integrative Counselling, and believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow into the best version of themselves while being accepted and valued for who they truly are. While conversations about mental health are becoming more common in our daily lives, it often remains a low priority when it comes to our personal care.

By giving ourselves the necessary time to focus on our emotional wellbeing within a safe and supportive environment, we can embark on a journey of exploration and growth, discovering your individual value together.

I am dedicated to supporting you as the client, guiding you gently towards the right tools and strategies to help you navigate your unique journey and foster long-term self sufficiency in our challenging world. Together, we will delve into your thoughts and feelings, working to understand them and identify the changes you would like to pursue.

Areas of work

I am particularly passionate about supporting clients with:

  • Couples counselling
  • Relationship dynamics
  • Addiction and recovery

Experience and Training

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Relational Counselling
  • COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • PVG registered with Disclosure Scotland
  • Member of COSCA

Professional Background

Alongside my counselling training, I have experience working within the NHS and supporting vulnerable young people and adults, including work with trauma, addiction and bereavement. I undertake regular supervision and professional development.
