Who am I?
I am a compassionate, empathetic and deeply curious person, with a strong belief in the power of connection and the importance of being truly heard. I bring warmth, energy and presence into my work, creating a space where people feel safe, seen and supported.
I am naturally sociable and dependable, and those who know me would describe me as someone who is deeply loyal and committed. I approach my work with a calm patience and a creative, open mindset. It’s important to me to meet each person where they are, with respect, understanding, and care.
I offer a non-judgemental, confidential and supportive space where you can explore whatever is going on for you — emotionally, relationally or psychologically. I believe that feeling safe, seen and respected in the therapeutic relationship is essential, and I aim to build that sense of connection and trust with every client I work with.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of theories and methods to best support each individual. These include person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and existential approaches, as well as creative and practical tools when appropriate. My work is trauma-informed and rooted in authenticity, flexibility and care.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we can begin to make sense of your experiences, identify patterns, and find new ways of understanding and moving forward — at a pace that feels right for you.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in education for 12 years. As a teacher, I worked closely with children and their families, building strong, collaborative relationships to support each child’s development, growth and wellbeing. Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the emotional needs behind the learning and developed a particular interest in supporting children and families through loss and change.
This led me to train more formally in counselling. I hold a degree in Education, a Certificate in Counselling Skills, and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I have completed additional training in trauma, grief and loss, and the impact of sexual violence. I regularly attend both individual and group supervision to reflect on and strengthen my practice, and I am committed to ongoing learning and professional development.
I hold a PVG and am a registered member of COSCA and BACP.
