Her Approach

“As much as I have an interest in the CBT approach, I feel that it is important to listen to the needs of my clients and adapt to suit their needs – some clients respond well to the tools of CBT, whereas others will be more aligned to a Person-Centred approach.”

“This approach effectively allows the client to steer the ship.  Whatever those needs are, I strive to ensure that they are met on every occasion.”

Linzi works in our Newton Mearns location and also in our North location in Clydebank, Glasgow.

Experience and Training

Linzi has a Counselling Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Group Work.

Linzi describes herself as a perpetual student, with a drive to evolve and grow in her profession as a counsellor.

“I think it’s important to keep learning in my role, to ensure that my clients benefit from the most up to date and relevant approaches to therapy that are on offer. I love being able to bring my knowledge into a session and see the positive changes in my clients that they are hoping for.”  Linzi understands the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and creates a safe and welcoming environment for her clients.

“The relationship between myself and my client absolutely sets the tone of how beneficial my counselling will be. That’s why a relationship of trust, understanding and non-judgement takes precedence in every session that I take my clients through. In order for them to share their life story, I understand that I have to gain their trust – I do this by taking my time getting to know my clients and ensuring that they feel comfortable and supported in the sessions together.”

Some Recent Feedback
"I can’t thank Linzi enough for her help. In our sessions she gave me a logical perspective of the situation which has lifted some unwarranted feelings of guilt which I was carrying. She listened to me without judgement, treating me empathy. This allowed me to be truly vulnerable and share my experience and process thoughts and feelings properly".
